Weightanka
Weightanka is a mobile, deadweight anchor device for use on roofs
of up to 5 degrees pitch, where the absence of guardrails or permanent
anchor devices would otherwise preclude safe means of access.
The first Class ‘E’ anchor device to be approved for
use on all roof surfaces when wet and also for use downhill on metal
clad roofs.* (CE approved to the PPE Directive and ISO
14567)
For fall arrest purposes no more than one user may be attached
to Weightanka at any one time. For restraint, up to two users may
be attached at any one time provided that the combination of the
Weightanka position and the use of fixed length harnesses ensure
that users are not able to approach within 500mm of a roof edge
or other opening.
Weightanka utilises a new concept in deadweight anchors by incorporating
a central pedestal (attachment point) which raises the height at
which the arrest force is applied. This reduces the distance that
the anchor device moves during a fall arrest event. Designed and
Tested to EN795:1996 and BS7883:2005 (inc Amendment No. 2).

The Weightanka Standard System comprises:
- 4 rubber covered base weights
- 2 cross arms
- 1 stabiliser arm
- 4 locating pins
- 6 galvanised standard weights
- 1 pedestal (attachment point)
|
Weightanka may be safely used
on the following roof surfaces:
- Single Ply Membrane
- Asphalt
- Steel Cladding
- Concrete
- Mineral Felt
- Stone Chippings

SPECIAL FEATURES:
Weightanka is the first deadweight anchor to
have been tested, and approved for use, on all
the above surfaces when wet.*
Weightanka has been tested, and approved for
use, on steel cladding when the direction of any
potential fall is down the roof slope, *even when
the roof is wet.
All testing has been carried out by the National
Engineering Laboratory, East Kilbride (Notified
Body Reference Number 0320). A full copy of their
report is available upon request.
*Additional weights are required (at extra cost) for use
in the following circumstances:
- 1. FLAT, SMOOTH Single Ply Membrane - TWO extra weights
- 2. EMBOSSED Single Ply Membrane - SIX extra weights
- 3. STEEL CLADDING, if the fall arrest event would cause
WEIGHTANKA to travel in a downhill direction (max 5 degrees)
- TWO extra weights
